6-Day Lemosho Route: A Quick and Scenic Trek to Uhuru Peak

The Lemosho Route is one of the most beautiful and less-traveled trails on Mount Kilimanjaro, offering trekkers a quiet and scenic journey through diverse landscapes. Starting on the western side of the mountain, it passes through untouched rainforest, crosses the vast Shira Plateau, and provides dramatic views of Kibo peak.
This 6-day itinerary is a shorter variation of the standard Lemosho trek and is ideal for fit and experienced hikers looking for a quick yet rewarding adventure. It includes a key acclimatization day via Lava Tower, increasing your chances of a successful summit.
Although more physically demanding than the longer version, the Lemosho Route’s gradual ascent profile and stunning vistas make it one of the best routes to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
